How Do You Know If Pain Is Normal or a Sign of Complications?

Reported by rachle green2 | January 28th, 2025 @ 09:27 AM

I’m feeling pain near the surgical site, but I’m not sure if it’s part of the healing process. How do you distinguish normal discomfort from serious issues?

Determining if pain is normal or a sign of complications health care facilities Los Angeles depends on its intensity, duration, and location. Mild to moderate pain post-injury or surgery is usually expected as part of the healing process. However, sharp, persistent, or worsening pain, especially with swelling, fever, or changes in function, may indicate complications and should be evaluated by a healthcare professional immediately.
