I18n.translate doesn't support default message pluralization

Reported by Nando Vieira | April 23rd, 2009 @ 02:43 PM

When trying to set a default message with pluralization settings, the missing translation error is returned

I18n.translate :chars_count,
  :count => 100,
  :default => {
    :other => "{{count}} characters",
    :one => "{{count}} character"
  }
